Dr. Tasos Dagiuklas

Tasos Dagiuklas received the Engineering Degree from the University of Patras-Greece in 1989, the M.Sc. from the University of Manchester-UK in 1991 and the Ph.D. from the University of Essex-UK in 1995, all in Electrical Engineering. He is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Hellenic Open University, Greece. Past positions include academic positions at TEI of Mesolonghi and University of Aegean Greece. Dr Dagiuklas is a Vice-Chair for IEEE MMTC QoE WG and Key Member of IEEE MMTC MSIG and 3DRPC WGs. He is also an active member of IEEE P1907.1 Standardiazation WG. He is a reviewer for journals such as IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Communication Letters and IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. His research interests include 2D/3D video transmission/adaptation/rate control across heterogeneous wireless networks, P2P video streaming and service provisioning across Future Internet architectures. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and Technical Chamber of Greece.

Dr. Athanasios M. Demiris

Dr. Thanos M.DEMIRIS has received his Diploma and PhD in Medical Informatics from the University of Heidelberg 1994 and 1998 respectively. He has been a research assistant at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg between 1992 and 1998. His work focused on image analysis of liver carcinomas in different modalities. He also focused on knowledge representation of biomedical image processing and implemented a fuzzy inference engine that was also used for the postprocessing of DNA sequencing algorithms. Subsequently he joined the Research and Development Department of INTRACOM S.A. in Greece, being responsible for research related to computer vision and augmented reality, having the title of the area leader. He collaborated with the Bioacademy in Athens and joined micro2gen in 2007 as co-founder, where he is now the responsible for the R&D activities of the company in molecular diagnostics instrumentation focusing on applications of computer vision in diagnostics and instrument control. The company was among the 10 finalists of the Innovation Contest by the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Eurobank in 2011. Sincce April 2013, he collaborates with CONES research group in the area of Advanced Multimedia Systems. He is the author of 13 publications in peer- reviewed journals, 3 book chapters and 43 conference papers, while he serves as reviewer for many journals and conferences in the realm. He is senior IEEE member.



Dr. Ilias Politis

Ilias Politis received his BSc in Electronic Engineering from Queen Marry College London, UK in 2000, his MSc in Mobile and Personal Communications from King's College London, UK in 2001 and his PhD in Multimedia Communications from the University of Patras Greece in 2009. His is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the Dept. of Computer Science of University of Piraeus, Greece, a Scientific Associate with the Technological Educational Institute of Mesolonghi Greece and a post-doc researcher at the Hellenic Open University, Greece. Dr. Politis research interests include multimedia communications with emphasis on video transmission optimization, video coding and heterogeneous networking. His is a member of the IEEE, FITCE and the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Asimakis Lykourgiotis received his engineering diploma from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Patras, Greece, in 2008. Since 2008, he has been a Ph.D. candidate in the same institution.
